Diabetes Training – Train Reaction
A training course focused on caring for patients with diabetes, for healthcare and social care professionals responsible for working with, caring for or looking after people with diabetes.
Who Diabetes Training is For
This training course is designed for staff working with individuals with diabetes in a wide range of healthcare and social care settings. It may also be suitable to support the learning of individuals working in charity or community settings with diabetic adults or children.

The risk factors for developing diabetes
How to manage hypoglycaemia
Supporting a patient with diabetes
Optional Course Additions
Where required, we can incorporate the following modules/training into the diabetes course:
Monitoring blood glucose using a meter
Administering insulin (for a named patient, with a patient specific protocol)
Managing sharps safely
Diabetes Course - Delivery and Duration
The course is normally delivered via Zoom Webinar and provides 2.5 hours of interactive learning. In addition, the course includes 1.5 hours of independent study set by the trainer.
If required, the course can also be delivered in person, either in a classroom setting or at your service. The in-person training is a 4 hour course.
Assessment
The competence of attendees will be checked as part of the assessment. Any practical skills included in the course (such as monitoring blood glucose and administering insulin) will be demonstrated and practiced as part of the training. All attendees will be provided with a competency assessment document.
